How to Preview a PDF
Select PDF
Choose the PDF document you want to preview.
View the Pages
Read the document using Single or Continuous viewing mode.
Navigate and Zoom
Use the page controls, thumbnail sidebar, page-number field, and zoom controls to inspect the document.
Check Basic File Details
Review the displayed filename, file size, and page count.
Finish or Download
When you are finished reviewing the document, you can remove or replace the selected file. If needed, use "Download PDF" to download the original selected PDF.
Single or Continuous PDF Viewing
PDF Preview provides two viewing modes.
Single: View one PDF page at a time and use the navigation controls to move between pages.
Continuous: Display PDF pages in a vertically scrollable document view so you can move through multiple pages continuously.
Choose the mode that is more convenient for the document you are reviewing.
Move Through Your PDF
Use the Previous Page and Next Page controls to move through the document.
You can also enter a page number directly or select a page from the thumbnail sidebar to move to that part of the PDF.
The viewer displays the current page together with the total page count so you can keep track of your position in the document.
Preview and Select PDF Pages
The thumbnail sidebar provides smaller previews of the PDF pages together with their page numbers.
Select a thumbnail to move directly to that page.
The sidebar can be toggled when you want more room for the main document preview.
Adjust the PDF Preview Size
Use the viewer's zoom controls to change the size of the rendered PDF page.
Zoom In and Zoom Out adjust the preview in 10% steps within the supported 50% to 300% range.
Use the "100%" control to return to the standard zoom level, or use "Fit Width" when you want the page preview fitted to the available viewing width.
Zoom changes how the PDF is displayed in the viewer; it does not increase the quality or resolution of the source document.
Check Basic PDF Information
PDF Preview displays basic information about the selected document, including filename, file size, and page count.
The current viewer does not display embedded PDF properties such as document title, author, PDF version, subject, keywords, creator, producer, creation date, or modification date.
Use the displayed information together with the page preview when checking the selected PDF.
Preview Without Editing the PDF
PDF Preview is designed as a read-only viewing tool.
The viewer does not provide controls for rotating, deleting, reordering, annotating, or otherwise editing PDF pages.
The "Download PDF" control downloads the original selected PDF rather than generating an edited PDF from the preview session.
If you need to modify the document, use the relevant PDF editing utility instead.
Preview PDF vs. PDF to JPG
PDF Preview renders PDF pages for on-screen viewing and navigation without creating converted page images.
PDF to JPG is designed for converting selected PDF pages into downloadable JPG or PNG image files.
Use PDF Preview when you want to inspect the document in the browser. Use PDF to JPG when you need the pages as separate image files.
Preview PDF vs. Organize PDF
PDF Preview is intended for reading and visually checking a PDF without changing its page structure.
Organize PDF provides page-management operations such as reordering, rotation, deletion, duplication, and supported bulk actions before creating a new organized PDF.
Choose PDF Preview when you only need to inspect the document.
Browser-Side PDF Processing
PDF preview operations run locally within your browser.

Performance When Previewing PDFs
PDF viewing performance can depend on the file size, page count, page content, rendering scale, available browser memory, and device resources. Large PDFs, image-heavy pages, higher zoom levels, or documents with many pages may require more memory and rendering time. If a demanding PDF does not preview smoothly on a mobile device, try a lower zoom level or use a desktop or laptop with greater available resources.
Review Your PDF Before Using or Submitting It
PDF Preview can help you visually review page content, page count, sequence, readability, and basic file information before using a document. If the PDF is intended for an application, examination, educational institution, employer, government portal, or another important submission, check the latest requirements from the relevant official source. Verify the document itself and any required file size, page, format, content, or other specifications before submission. EditPDFImage.com cannot guarantee acceptance by a third-party portal or organization.
